
LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Laying 126 km west of Arusha city center is Lake Manyara national park covering an area of 330 square kilometers on the great rift valley floor. The park is famous for its tree climbing lions. The park is highlighted by the rift valley walls centering the Lake Manyara national park giving breath taking scenery. Lake Manyara located inside is the park is one of the main attractions for visitors for being habitat to many flamingos whose massive number make them appear like a massive curtain hanging over the lake during the afternoon as they feed and rest around the lake.
Lake Manyara national park is home to lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, elephants, giraffes and other beautiful animals. The park also has over 400 bird species that make it a great destination for bird watching safaris.
For millions of years hot volcanic water from hot springs and glaciers have been flowing around Lake Manyara national park forming one of the key attractions in the park. The best time to visit the park is between June and December before the rain season begins. Lake Manyara national park is also the only ever green national park on the northern Tanzania
